The theme for this week’s photo challenge is “vivid”.
Suggestions included flowers in bloom, a vivid red sunset and fruity ice creams. But for me “vivid” doesn’t just mean colour, it also means something that conjures up a vivid image or creates a vivid idea.
So for the challenge I’m taking us to the Peggy Guggenheim Museum in Venice as the contemporary artwork there never ceases to make me think.
Peggy clearly had an eye for contemporary art – at one point buying a new piece every day for over a year – and her collection includes names such as Jackson Pollack, Dali, Kandinsky and Giacometti to name just a few of her favourites.
Some pieces have splashes of vivid colour, others create vivid images of a thing or a place, even in monochrome. And all leave a vivid impression.
See what you think and leave me a comment to let me know how you bring colour into your life to make it more vivid!
